Decal Usage Instruction
*Apply for thin tissue decal, over fired glaze surface only (alcohol needed)
(DC 062, DC 063, DC 102, DC147S, DC147M, DC 151, DC 152, DC 153, DC 211, DC 221, DC 231, DC 415, DC 416, DC 417, DC 419, DC 420, DC 511, DC 581)
Clean up the ceramic surface with industrial alcohol (about 75%). Prepare a pan of water enough to cover the size of the decal paper. Add 3% alcohol in the water. Dip the decal paper into the water, take it out right way and slide it onto the surface to attach it (The glossy paper side faces down; it just reverses from normal decals). Use a soft rubber scraper to smooth and drive out any air bubbles. Fire it in oxidation (normally in an electrical kiln) at cone 018-017 (750-780oC). Keep the kiln door slightly open until the paper burns off (about 300oC), or the images may turn blackish. Let the temperature cooling down naturally after shut off the electricity. The images will be transferred to the glazed surface permanently after the firing. Visit our website for new items and colored pictures.
*Apply for heavy paper decal, over fired glaze surface only (no alcohol needed, use water only)

Clean up the ceramic surface. Prepare a pan of warm water (about 30oC /80oF) with enough liquid to cover the decal paper. Dip the decal paper in the water for 2-3 minutes. Spray water on the surface of the ceramic piece and slide the decal onto the surface to attach it. Use a soft rubber scraper to smooth and drive out any air bubbles. Use a dry towel to take off the extra water and wait about five hours for the decal paper to dry completely.
Fire it in oxidation (normally in an electrical kiln) at cone 015 (800 oC /1472oF). Start firing at a lower speed. Keep the kiln door slightly open until the paper burns off (about 300 oC/572oF), or the images may turn blackish. Allow the temperature to cool naturally after shutting off the electricity. The images transfer to the glazed surface permanently after the firing.
*Apply for underglaze decal only

Brush some water on the decal surface (the side with the color) and place it on the flat surface of the plastic wet or leather hard clay work, then use a dry hake brush to drive out the air in between the paper and clay surface. And then may apply the clear glaze on the top as usual then fire it in the temperature whatever needed. The firing temperature can be up to cone 10.
